Two tram lines and four bus lines will be disrupted until 28 August, Brussels public transport company STIB announced on its website on Friday.
The first phase of the works is taking place until 28 August, which will see local public transport disrupted.
"Due to works by Vivaqua on the Chaussée de Bruxelles, no traffic is possible between the stops Sint-Denijs/Saint-Denis and Vorst Centrum/Forest Centre," the company said.
Additionally, from 1 August, the Chaussée de Neerstalle will be renovated to transform the centre of Forest into a neighbourhood accessible to all modes of transport, with priority given to pedestrians, cyclists and public transport.
Therefore, tram 82 is being replaced by T-buses between Forest Centre and Neerstalle, tram 97 is being interrupted between Wiels and Neerstalle and again replaced by T-buses.
From 1 August, bus 50 is being diverted between Forest Centre and Kerk Ruisbroek, and buses 54 and 74 are also being diverted between Saint-Denis and Bervoets.
