Brussels takes Uber to court

The Brussels Minister for Mobility Pascal Smet (S.PA, Socialist Party) has announced that the Brussels government will join Taxi verts’ civil legal action against Uber. The region will also initiate criminal proceedings, reported De Morgen and Le Soir on Friday. Pascal Smet also said that he would ask the Computer Crime Unit to keep an eye on Uber’s internet site. He will also ask Apple Store and Google Store managers to deactivate the application.

This heavy offensive is the result of work by lawyers tasked with finding a judicially valid way to reinforce the legal action against Uber and its current practices.
