Pedestrian injured after being hit by a tram in Brussels

A pedestrian was injured in Brussels after being hit by a line 3 tram on Tuesday a little before 6am. The tram was heading towards Churchill, on the edge of the quai des Usines. The circumstances of the accident are not yet known.  The pedestrian was taken to hospital and is in intensive care. They have two open fractures on their leg but their life is not in danger, according to Françoise Ledune, spokesman for the Stib. This confirmed information published on the La Capitale website.

Line3 trams have been diverted between the Van Praet and Thomas stops. They now go through Verboekhoven and Liedts. A replacement bus has been put in place for the stops on the quai des Usines and the avenue de la Reine.
