The Uber driver who was “attacked” admits he made it all up

The Uber driver who said he was ambushed and attacked by Brussels taxi drivers has retracted his statements and admitted he lied, La Dernière Heure revealed on Wednesday. The Uber driver claimed to have received a call, during which a meeting in rue Rouge in Uccle was arranged. He said he went there at about 01.50am. He claimed he was met by about 40 taxi drivers, who started to insult him.

“Today, I admit that my statements were false. My phone was not stolen. My vehicle was not damaged by taxi drivers. No taxi driver asked me to get into their taxi. Everything I said was false”, the Uber driver explained in a new statement, according to La Dernière Heure.
