The body of a 20 year old Brussels resident, Oussama Ben Alla, has been found in the Brussels-Charleroi canal. He had been missing since the 27th of May. The Brussels Prosecutor’s office said he had been found and taken out of the water near Leew-Saint-Pierre on the 12th of June, but it had taken time to identify him. The cause of death is not yet known. A little after the body was found, Hal-Vilvorde Prosecutor’s office said there was no evidence of foul play. On the day he disappeared, the young man from Molenbeek-Saint-Jean called his brother and arranged to meet in Ixelles at 10pm. Oussama Ben Alla never turned up.
The Medical Examiner who examined the body said there was no evidence of foul play, the Hal-Vilvorde Prosecutor’s office said in a statement.
