Around fifteen members of a Brussels street gang arrested

Around 15 members of the Brussels street gang known as “Negatif Clan” were arrested during a raid by Brussels police on Friday, La Dernière Heure reported on Sunday. The Brussels Prosecutor’s office will not release any more information about this case before Monday.

There were multiple house searches in several different neighbourhoods in Brussels on Friday morning. Brussels police were backed up by Special Units.

Around 15 members of the gang were arrested in apartments in Anderlecht, Evere, Laeken and Etterbeek.

Six of them, 4 women and 2 men, are suspected of being involved in a series of prostitution scams, and were sent before an investigating judge. They were charged with being in charge of an organised criminal extortion gang.

Clients were lured to the apartments searched by police. Once they were there, gang members stripped and extorted them, sometimes with violence.
