King Philippe visited the Court of Cassation in Brussels on Thursday morning, and met with court magistrates. The king was welcomed by First President Jean Codt and Public Prosecutor Patrick Duinslaeger as he arrived at the Law Courts of Brussels. He was introduced to several judges from the seat of the court and from the public prosecutor’s office.
The king then took part in an hour-long work meeting with the magistrates. At the end of his visit, King Philippe signed the guest book of the highest judiciary institution in Belgium, in the new Court of Cassation ceremonial hall, and took part in a reception held by the magistrates in his honour.
