Reinforced security measures taken for larger events in Brussels

The security measures will be reinforced for larger events planned for the public in the capital, announced Brussels Mayor Yvan Mayeur on Saturday morning. The public has been informed to not bring any bags to concerts and to the game between the “Red Devils” and Spain on Tuesday.

“We are horrified by the attacks and the terror in Paris. The city of Brussels mourns the victims and stands with all Parisians”, reacted the Mayor on Friday via his twitter account.

In Brussels, specific security measurements will be reinforced to ensure the security at larger events. In particular with regard to more controls.

The city also asks the citizens for help and calls for residents to not bring bags, backpacks or suspicious items to events. Specific reference is given to Saturday’s concerts at the “Ancienne Belgique” and at Palais 12, as well as Tuesday's football match at the King Baudouin stadium.
