Christmas parade: three subway stations closed in Brussels on Sunday as of 4 p.m.

Metro and pre-metro stations De Brouckère, Sainte Catherine and Bourse will be closed to the public on Sunday as of 4 p.m., to ensure the proper organization of the Christmas parade and "security for all", announced the STIB/MIVB Friday on its website. The parade will be held in the centre of Brussels between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m., as part of Winter Wonders. The stations will be reopened at the end of the parade, but the STIB/MIVB advises travellers to step out at Central Station, Rogier or Anneessens stations to reach the centre of the capital during the parade.

Bus lines ending at De Brouckère will be somewhat restricted as well: buses 29, 66 and 71 will make their last stop at Central Station instead from 5.30 p.m. to 7 p.m., buses 47 and 88 at Yser between 4:45 p.m. and 7 p.m., and bus 86 at Anneessens from 5.30 p.m. to 7.30 p.m., the company says.
