Car pushed down the stairs at the Clemenceau metro station: a suspect arrested

One of the youths suspected of pushing a car down the stairs leading to the platform at the Clemenceau metro station in Anderlecht (Brussels) on Thursday evening has been arrested. This was announced by the Brussels-Midi police, which confirms a report by VRT.

The incident happened at around 8pm on Thursday. No-one was injured, but it caused the metro traffic for lines 2 and 6 between the Porte de Hal station in Saint-Gilles and the Osseghem station in Molenbeek to be halted for half an hour. The Clemenceau metro station had to be shut for the rest of New Year’s Eve. The vehicle was taken off the rails during the night.
