The police force has appealed to the public for witnesses to identify a man who appears in the photos from the surveillance cameras at Zaventem airport. The photos were taken just before the attack was perpetrated and have been published by media during the day. The call for witnesses was notably disseminated on the social networks Facebook and Twitter.
The man is wearing a black hat and a white jacket. He stands to the right in the photos with two other men who obviously were the suicide bombers.
“The police are trying to identify the person. He is suspected of being involved in the attack in the Brussels Airport in Zaventem today,” the police say. “If you recognize this person or have any information about the attack, please contact the investigators.” Discretion is assured.
A free phone number (0800 / 30.300) is available as well as an email address (firstname.lastname@example.org).
