Brussels attacks: Two brothers identified as the suicide bombers at the airport

The brothers Khalid and Ibrahim El Bakraoui have been identified as the suicide bombers for the terror attack at Zaventem airport. The Belgian television company RTFB refers to “police source”. The information has not yet been confirmed by the federal prosecutor.

Both brothers, aged 27 and 30, have been wanted by the police in the past. In 2010, Ibrahim was sentenced to 9 years in prison by a court in Brussels for shooting at policemen with a Kalashnikov automatic rifle during a robbery. In early 2011, Khalid was arrested for possessing Kalahsnikovs and sentenced to 5 years in prison for carjackings.

Khalid El Bakraoui had rented under false identity the apartment at rue Dries in Forest where a search took place last week and where the fingerprints of Salah Abdeslam, the wanted fugitive from the terror attacks in Paris, were found.
