Zaventem airport open for passenger flights first on Tuesday

The airport which was hit by the terror attack will resume flights earliest on Tuesday. According to the airport operator the investigation by the judicial authorities has been completed.

Brussels airport company received permission yesterday (25 March) to enter the terminal with a small team of engineers to assess the damage. They studied the possibility of a temporary solution to partially restart passenger flights taking into account the new security measures decided by the government.

The team will consider the stability of the building, check the functioning of the computer systems, assess property damage and plan the renovation of the building.

The security perimeter will be kept in place. The terminal where the explosions took place is only accessible for authorized personnel. Federal policy and security officers are carrying out strict identity controls at the entrance of the area.
