Socialist MP Jamal Ikazban warned on Monday the Federal Police and Interior Minister Jan Jambon that jihadist text messages are disseminated to young people. Jamal Ikazban, who belongs to the opposition in the municipal council of Molenbeek, said on Monday (28 March) on Twitter that youth in his commune were "SMS victims of propaganda. We must act and get rid of these recruiters."
According to an image of a SMS, he posted on Twitter, the messages had to content "My brothers, why not join us fight the West? Make the right choices in your life."
The British newspaper The Guardian writes that the text messages were sent on Sunday evening from a prepaid SIM card that could not be traced. Ikazban told the newspaper that the people behind the text messages were like "drug dealers outside the door of our schools. They should be off the streets. They are predators and young people are the victims."
