Brussels attacks: Police asks citizens and shop owners to save camera surveillance images

Brussels citizens and shop owners have been asked to preserve public images registered from cameras between 15 March and 31 March 2016, indicated on Thursday the federal police in a communication following demands by investigators to the attacks in Brussels. “Citizens and shop owners in Brussels who own private cameras, and that have been registering public images, are invited to preserve those images for the investigators of the Brussels attacks. The period of interest is from March 15 t0 March 31 2016 whereby one can for example distinguish a sidewalk or other public spaces. Shop keepers are also invited to keep images from their interiors as well records of what has been bought”, details the communication.

The police specifies that these images do not have to be sent to police but only kept, and “in case the police would have a concrete need they would get in touch with the concerned shops”.
