Shopping center in Brussels evacuated after false bomb alert

City 2 shopping center was evacuated on Sunday afternoon after a bomb threat. An unknown person called the Esprit store at 14.45 pm and announced that three bombs would explode in the mall which had been opened for shopping on Sunday (3 April).

Police immediately evacuated the whole building and part of rue Neuve where it is located.

A search of the mall and its surroundings, using particularly dogs trained to detect explosives, did not discover any suspicious packages.

After the search rue Neuve and City2 could resume its normal activities.
