Access to the departure hall at Zaventem airport for staff and victims

The departure hall at Zaventem airport will be open this week to airport staff as well as victims and their relatives before its reopening to passengers. The reopening of the departure hall for passengers is planned during May according to the airport.

The least affected part of this area is almost completely rebuilt. Some hundred check-in counters will soon become operational.

Those who work at the airport will be able to visit the departure hall this Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, said spokesperson Florence Muls. A reception with the victims of the terror attacks and their families is also planned but the practical details are not known yet.

Last Saturday victims and their relatives were able to visit the metro station at Maelbeek. The station has been open for traffic since Monday.

The new Minister of Mobility, François Bellot (MR), paid a working visit to the airport on Tuesday (26 April), said his spokesperson on Twitter.
