Compulsory first aid training for driving licence in Brussels

The Brussels Secretary of State for Road Safety, Bianca Debaets, will introduce compulsory first aid training in the driving licence theory test.
So reports La Dernière Heure on Monday. This provision should be made law within two weeks by the Brussels-Capital government.

Tomorrow's drivers will learn the necessary action to take to save lives whilst awaiting the emergency services. Based upon the experience of the Belgian Red Cross, training may given in two hours.

An accreditation certificate will be issued to the learner driver following this training, without which they cannot pass the theory test, as part of obtaining their driving licence.
