More than 103 million euros in unemployment allowances were unduly paid in 2015 by the National Employment Office (ONEM) in Belgium. According to a report in Sudpresse on Tuesday (17 May), the total sum reached half a billion euros in the last 5 years.
Last year the National Employment Office took 51 589 decisions to recover wrongly paid allowances:
21 955 in Flanders, 21 690 in Wallonia and 8 214 in Brussels.
Some 73 million euros were recovered in 2015, against 69 million in 2014.
