Reconstruction of terror attack in Brussels

A huge security perimeter was in place on Thursday afternoon around Max Roos street in Schaerbeek (Brussels) to reconstruct the scene when three terrorists left a building there and went by taxi to Zaventem airport on the morning of 22 March. The federal prosecutor confirmed earlier on Thursday (19 May) that the reconstruction would be held in the presence, according to several media, of Mohammed Abrini, “the man in the hat”, who left the airport without exploding the explosives in his luggage.

Several onlookers and journalists were along the perimeter. Some passers-by were searched and only a few people who could prove that they live within the enclosure were allowed to enter, according to the news service Belga.

Another crime reconstruction will be held later today in the departure hall of Zaventem airport, where Mohamed Abrini will show how the explosions were triggered.
