There are problems with the Brussels tunnels because of the rain

The Bailly and Vleurgat tunnels have been closed because of the rain. This was announced by Ilse Van de Keere, the spokesman for the Brussels-Ixelles police, at around 9pm on Saturday.

The Brussels Mobility internet site also said there had been flooding in the Loi and Cinquantenaire tunnels. The spokesman for the Brussels fire department, Pierre Meys, said there are currently 30 ongoing recovery operations, mainly at Uccle, Ixelles and Forest. Stib spokesperson Cindy Arents has said the STIB network will not be affected. None of the metro stations have been flooded, and Bus and Tram traffic will not be affected.
