Brussels commemorates the memory of Jo Cox

The British Member of Parliament Jo Cox was murdered last week during the campaign over Brexit. This Wednesday, 22 June, 2016, she would have turned 42 years old.

Events in her memory will be held in several locations simultaneously, including her home constituency of Batley and Spen, London, Brussels, New York, Washington DC, and Nairobi.

The events are both a celebration of Jo’s life and a collective calling to action to give a voice to the voiceless and to treat everyone with respect and dignity, especially those we disagree with.

The event in Brussels will take place at the Ancienne Belgique, 110 Boulevard Anspach, on Wednesday 22 June at 17.00, coinciding with events around the world. Doors will open at 16.30.

Jo Cox lived in Brussels for several years up to 2004 working for Glenys Kinnock MEP and for Oxfam.
