Brussels attacks: Michel refuses to be intimidated by Daesh video

The Prime Minister, Charles Michel, will not be intimidated by Daesh threats. He made this known after the dissemination by the terrorist organisation claiming that he was responsible for the Brussels attacks. The Prime Minister stated, “We will not draw back in the face of Daesh. We are determined to pursue the fight against terrorism with our global partners. We will not be intimidated by these threats. Combatting Daesh is vital to defend both our democracy and the safety of our fellow citizens.”

In the video we hear a rap tune with the lyrics, “Kalashikov is loaded, civilians unarmed. Brussels is in terror, Michel is to blame. Belgians are burning, Michel is to blame. Synchronized attacks, airport the target.”

As the song plays, there is a stream of images showing the chaos after the attacks, as well as Charles Michel and even the French Prime Minister, Manuel Valls.

The video also makes reference to the perpetrators of the attacks as well as other jihadists. Moreover, we have learned that the security services are analysing the film.

It is the second time that the Belgian Prime Minister has been mentioned in a Daesh propaganda message. Mr Michel has already been threatened by Daesh and specific measures are presently in place to protect him.
