Belgium keeps alert level 3 after the terror attack in Nice

An evaluation was made last night by the coordinating body for threat analysis (Ocam). The highest alert level is 4.

A national security council meeting is expected to take place this morning.

Alert level 3 means that the threat is "serious, possible and probable", but there is no specific information about an imminent threat.

Ocam continues to monitor the situation. It has also reminded all security services about the measures to be implemented under alert level 3.

A spokesperson for the ministry of interior affairs said that the evaluation for the national holiday of July 21 had already been conducted. For this, the Brussels police has requested and obtained reinforcements from the federal services. All security services will be activated on the ground.
