National Day in Brussels celebrated with fireworks

About 25 000 people attended the show. The fireworks started at 11 on Thursday evening from Place des Palais in Brussels. The police reported an audience of 25 000 people. King Philip, Queen Matilda and their eldest daughter, Princess Elizabeth, were present at the show.

The fireworks honored the colors of Brussels and were orchestrated to different music themes.

More than 100 000 projectiles were fired according to the organizers.

At the end of the fireworks, the Belgian Red Cross reported that 147 people had been treated at health posts and 10 persons had been evacuated to hospitals. No intervention was serious, according to Nancy Ferroni, the spokesperson of the French-speaking section of the Belgian Red Cross.
