Works planned for the summer are on schedule at this stage, announced Thursday a spokesperson of Bruxelles-Mobilité. For the time being only the Montgomery Tunnel has departed from the timeline initially established; its re-opening estimated for November has been delayed to mid-December. A slab on avenue Henry Dietrich which has shown to be defective following tests must also be replaced.
Regarding the Stéphanie Tunnel, the works are going forward non-stop seven days a week. If no new contingencies arise, the re-opening of the tunnel planned for the end of August will be adhered to.
Waterproofing on the Rogier Tunnel – work estimated to last until the end of August – is a few days ahead of schedule.
The Anderlecht Viaduct is to re-open at the beginning of September.
The conclusion of works at rue de Stalle in Uccle, rue Van Oost in Schaerbeek and at the Simonis stop in Berchem-Sainte-Agathe is scheduled for August 31st.
A Stib spokesperson mentioned that the important construction site at the Janson intersection at Saint-Gilles with the aim of replacing routes is on schedule. The re-opening of the intersection to traffic is planned for September 1st.
The reduction of traffic at rue Belliard to two lanes between avenue des Arts and chaussée d’Etterbeek where work is being carried out on gas lines, and electricity and telecommunications cables, should be completed by the end of August, on the 31st at the latest.
