Police from the Bruxelles-Nord police zone in Brussels where Schaerbeek is located intervened, in large numbers, on Sunday around 3 p.m. They wished to end a fight between two families, which occurred in Place Liedts in Schaerbeek.
The families were of Kurdish and Syrian origin. The Brussels Public Prosecutor’s Office says that several people involved in the fight were arrested for questioning.
Police are unaware of the cause of the dispute, which led the two families to be at loggerheads.
