57 % of young people find a job after half a year Sudpresse reported on Friday (2 September) that job-seekers with diplomas as mechanic, butcher, nurse and teacher are most likely to find a job in Wallonia, according to a survey by Forem that was presented by the Walloon Minister of Employment and Training Eliane Tillieux.
Among those with a general upper secondary and technical education, 90 % of mechanics find employment six months after leaving school. For those with vocational education, 83 % of butchers and 85 % of nurses find a job after the same period.
In higher education, teaching diplomas provide quick access to employment, as well as a diploma as pharmacist. Minister Tillieux was pleased to note that, in general, 57 % of young people find a job after six months.
“There is no reason to boast but it’s an increase for the third consecutive year,” she says.
