Brussels City Council is supporting the fight against breast cancer. It is lighting up the City Hall in pink, on Saturday from 6 p.m., announced the Deputy Burgomaster for Public Works, Els Ampe (of the Open Vld).

Brussels City Council is thus involved in the global annual awareness-raising of the fight against breast cancer which takes place at the beginning of October.

“By lighting up the City Hall pink is showing both its sympathy and solidarity with both patients suffering from cancer and their relatives,” Els Ampe commented.

She went on, “With the colour pink, we also wish to give courage to all those fighting cancer.”

Ampe also took the opportunity to announce that the City Hall will be lit up throughout the year for certain events and commemorative dates.
