Hicham Diop, the man who stabbed two policemen in Schaerbeek last week, may have done so whilst under the influence of drugs. His barrister, Sébastien Courtoy, said this yesterday (Monday) to both the RTL-TVi and RTBF television stations.
On RTL-TVi, the lawyer stated that Hicham Diop had stopped competitive boxing in 2011, following an injury.
He wished to get back into the ring to support his family financially.
To do so, his doctor had prescribed several drugs such as testosterone, growth hormones, anabolic steroids, codeine and a series of psychotropic drugs.
His barrister concluded, “This cocktail of drugs sent him over the edge.”
