A 51 year old scooter rider died after being hit by a car in the Porte de Namur tunnel in Ixelles. The incident happened in the early hours of Sunday morning. The driver of the car fled the scene but was later identified and questioned, the Brussels Capitale-Ixelles police revealed on Sunday.
The accident happened in the Porte de Namur tunnel in Ixelles at 1am. A man in his fifties was knocked off his scooter by a car, which didn’t stop. The victim had already lost consciousness when the emergency services arrived. They weren’t able to save him, and he died at the scene.
The driver of the car was later located and questioned by the police. The investigators are trying to determine whether he was definitely the one driving at the time of the accident.
