“Flying patrols” this winter for the Bob campaign

“Flying patrols” this winter for the Bob campaign
“Flying patrols” will be the norm for this winter's Bob campaign.

So as to counter propagation of information as to their whereabouts on social networks, the police will rely more on “flying patrols” for this winter's Bob campaign (to raise alcohol awareness). The Mediahuis group are reporting this today (Tuesday).

The police will thus hardly stay in one place for more than a quarter of an hour to carry out given checks, before quickly moving on to another location.

The Office of the Interior Minister, Jan Jambon (of the New Flemish Alliance) states, “We wish to improve the quality of our checks.”

The Office goes on, “This is why our police services must work intelligently, in particular by organising shorter and quicker checks. That will occur most frequently during the Bob campaign.”

The police will also work with additional patrols during this campaign, which is due to begin at the end of the month.

The police are, moreover, envisaging 250,000 alcohol checks, as happened last year.
