National stadium in Brussels – Ecolo demands public inquiry on permit application
New stadium plans

Leaders of theEcolo-Groen party of the City of Brussels, Marie Nagy and Bart Dhondt, want the Municipality of Brussels to organize, together with the Municipality of Grimbergen, a public inquiry and a concertation committee for the application to build the new national stadium. The presentation of the application was announced on Thursday. “It’s the minimum respect and participation that Brussels residents deserve for this important issue,” emphasized Thursday Marie Nagy and Bart Dhondt in reaction to the announcement.

Marie Nagy recalled the extent of the impact that this construction would imply for the inhabitants of Brussels in terms of transport and finances, both for the stadium (over 120 million euros in investments) and for the underground car park (80 million euros).

For Bart Dhondt, Brussels residents must also have access to the documents regarding the construction of the stadium in their own municipal administration; that is, in the City of Brussels.
