Pilot strike at Lufthansa

Brussels airport affected German airline company Lufthansa has announced the cancellation of 876 flights for Wednesday (23 November), including 51 international flights, due to a pilot strike that was extended to Thursday. Its low-cost subsidiary Eurowings canceled about sixty flights on Tuesday. In Belgium, some 20 flights to Brussels Airport are canceled.

In total, approximately 100 000 Lufthansa passengers will be affected by the cancellations on Wednesday, the group said in a statement. 2 124 routes will be provided, out of the approximately 3 000 operated by the Lufthansa Group, which also includes Eurowings, Swiss, Austrian Airlines and Brussels Airlines.

In Belgium, around 20 flights are canceled due to the strike. Ten flights from Zaventem to Munich and Frankfurt, as well as ten others in the other direction, will not take place on Wednesday, according to Brussels Airport website.
