The Embassy of Sri Lanka together with the Sri Lankan community in Belgium and Luxembourg celebrated Christmas on Saturday, 10th December 2016 at St. Anne's Church in Brussels. The Staff of the Embassy and over 100 Sri Lankans and well wishers in Belgium and Luxembourg participated.
The event commenced with the celebration of Holy Mass by Rev. Fathers Roshan Fernando, Alex Nilantha, Robert Matheus. Rev. Sisters of the Sri Lankan community also participated. Christmas Carols were sung by the Sri Lanka Community Choir in English, Sinhala and Tamil.
The Sri Lankan community participated in the entrance and offertory processions as well as the reading of the scriptures. H. E. Ambassador Rodney Perera addressed the gathering at the end of the Holy Mass.
After the conclusion of the Mass, the Embassy hosted a dinner in the church hall. Santa Claus distributed gifts to the children.
