Tight security measures will be put in place for the American Vice-President Mike Pence’s visit to Brussels on Monday. This was announced by the Bruxelles-Capitale-Ixelles police on Friday. Traffic is expected to be disrupted around the European quarter in the morning, and near the boulevard Léopold III in the afternoon. Police have advised people to avoid driving in these areas.

Prime Minister Charles Michel announced that the new American Vice-President Mike Pence would be coming to Brussels at the beginning of February. The two men will meet for a work dinner to talk about relations between Belgium and the United States, as well as European Institutions. They will also discuss the next NATO summit in May.

Before coming to Brussels, Mike Pence will have been to Germany to attend the 53rd Security Conference in Munich on the 17th to the 19th of February.
