Thousands gather at Bois de la Cambre for Brussels Yoga Day
Dr Geetha Babouraj makes no bones about advocating yoga, during Brussels Yoga Day.

On Sunday, several thousand people took part in a giant yoga session, in the Bois de la Cambre, in Brussels. This was organised as part of the fourth Brussels Yoga Day. Gatherings and workshops also took place during the event. Organised since 2012 by the third sector organisation, Vidonne, each year Brussels Yoga Day brings together several thousand participants.

Since 2014, when the United Nations instigated the International Yoga Day on June 21st, the event has always taken place on the closest Sunday to this day.

Dr Geetha Babouraj, who led the session this Sunday, was delighted to state, “Yoga has seen an exponential growth over the last few years.” She further suggests, “Those who practice yoga feel that it has a genuine influence on their life. This helps them to control problems which medicine cannot cure.”

She added that the aim of the event is also to show that yoga may be practised at any age and with or without experience.
