Head of terrorist cell arrested in Zaventem

The head of a jihadist cell, suspected of both recruiting and indoctrinating members for entry into the terrorist organisation, Islamic State, has been arrested for questioning in Zaventem. This was indicated by the Spanish police on Wednesday. He is a Spanish citizen and aged 26. The individual was the last Belgian link in the chain of this network, which was also planning terrorist acts in Belgium.

He was one of the largest suppliers of propaganda material. The man had tried, unsuccessfully, on two occasions to enter a conflict zone. A European arrest warrant was issued for him, as part of the international fight against terrorism.
