Budget of Belgian monarchy will exceed €36 million in 2018

Figures disclosed by the Belgian parliament shows that the budget for the monarchy will increase slightly next year because of indexation. Sudpresse reported today (25 October) that the total cost amounts €36.4 million. One part is €13.6 million to the King’s Civil List and members of the royal family.
The main amount, €11.8 million, relates to all real estate, material and financial resources placed by the Belgian government at the disposal of the sovereign.
The other part is payment for the activities of the royal family. Each ministry has a budget to cover them. For the year 2018, an amount of € 22.8 is budgeted to support these activities.
