A new night bus connecting Ixelles with De Brouckère, specially intended for students, was inaugurated to music on Thursday evening in the presence of Brussels ministers Pascal Smet and Guy Vanhengel, and Director of STIB Brieuc de Meeüs. Bus line 71 will connect Brussels center and other popular places like Place Flagey with the campuses of ULB and the VUB. Previously, the bus was in traffic only on Friday and Saturday nights although Thursday nights are traditionally a day out for students.
"The night bus will give students more freedom to discover Brussels," said Dominiek Stroo of the VUB student council. The bus enables students to return to their campus until 3 am.
