Brussels: two seriously injured in fight at Bockstael metro station

A fight broke out on Sunday evening in the Bockstael metro station in Laeken. As a result, two people were seriously injured. This information, initially released by VTM Nieuws, was confirmed by STIB (the Brussels region public transport company).

The fight broke out shortly after 10.00 p.m., and involved around ten people. The STIB spokeswoman, Cindy Arents, speaking in the late evening, indicated, “The metro station was temporarily closed, on the orders of the police.” All metro services continued to operate, but without stopping at the Bockstael station platforms.

The Brussels public transport company said that the brawl resulted in two people being seriously injured. At the time, no additional information was given as to their condition. The exact circumstances of the incident also remain unclear.
