Two Brussels television shows, the mini-series Roomies and Mirakel n°71, were selected to win a prize at the Cannes Series Festival.

The acclaimed TV series Roomies, set in Brussels and previously shown on VRT MAX, was selected in the Short Form competition. It will have its international premiere on Tuesday 18 April. The award ceremony will take place on Wednesday 19 April.

"Roomies invites you to move in with [main characters] Bibi and Ama, two lesbian friends, in the young and vibrant city of Brussels, to share friendship, love stories and knowledge," the Cannes jury said. "It is love at first sight seeing this fascinating duo, who remind us of the best moments of Girls of The L World."

In turn, Mirakel n° 71, a three-part documentary series by Brussels-based director Nathalie Basteyns was selected in the Documentary Series competition. In the series, Basteyns, director and multiple sclerose (MS) patient, goes in search of a miracle: after 10 years in a wheelchair, she wants to be able to walk again.
