One of the seven pedestrians hit last Friday on the Rue des Colonies sidewalk in Brussels by a Stib bus, and who was in critical condition, is now out of danger. The other injured have all left hospital, stated Monday Brussels Prosecution. According to the expert’s first conclusions, the accident was most likely due to a manoeuvre by the bus driver to avoid something.
Friday afternoon, a Line 63 bus knocked down seven pedestrians who were on the Rue des Colonies sidewalk, and bumped into a parked car. It had been initially mentioned that the bus driver had been indisposed when driving, but according to the expert, the driver had first attempted to avoid a collision with another vehicle, after which he would have felt unwell.
Both the bus driver and the driver of the other vehicle have been heard. Neither were under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol. They were released after their hearing.
