More want teleworking in Belgium

A survey of 2,000 Belgian employees indicates that about one third of those who do not currently work at home (at least one day a week) would like to do it but lack authorization by their employers. The survey was carried out by the Federal Public Service for Mobility and Transport (SPF) and reported today by Belgian media.

Teleworking refers to working from home and communicating with the company by using modern communication tools.

A large group of workers would need relatively small adaptations and a change of mind on part of the employer to allow them in the near future to work from home.

The proportion of teleworkers, currently at 17%, has the potential to grow to 42%, which would have a "very important" impact on mobility according to SPF.
