Man robs pharmacy in Schaerbeek for medication

A 58 year old man tried to rob a pharmacy in Schaerbeek on Friday morning, the Brussels prosecutor's office said on Saturday. This confirmed a report by La Dernière Heure. The man was asking for medication, not money. The pharmacist managed to call the police, who arrested the man. He was then handed over to the prosecutor's office. The incident happened at 9.30am on Friday. The robber stormed into the pharmacy and threatened the manager with a gun. He wanted medication but the pharmacist, who recognised him as a customer, refused to hand the drugs over because he had received them a few days before. The robber insisted, so the manager pretended to go and go and get them. They used this opportunity to call the police.

The officers arrested the man, who is in his 50s, a few moments later. The suspect was a little drunk, but did not resist arrest.
