A taxi journey between Brussels Airport and the city centre costs between €3 and €5 per kilometre, which makes it the sixth most expensive journey in Europe. The finding is part of a classification established by the Dutch travel website Vliegveldinfo.nl, in collaboration with AirMundo.com.

The Airport Taxi Report Summer 2018 reviews the prices demanded by taxi drivers in the 50 most frequented airports in so-called “Wider Europe”. Per kilometre, the journey is most expensive in Switzerland: Geneva (€5.67) and Zurich (€5) take the two top spots. Copenhagen, Nice and Düsseldorf complete the top 5. The least expensive airports for a taxi journey are located in Turkey and Russia.

A journey by taxi from the airport to the centre of a European city costs on average €40, according to the Dutch website.

Owing to the long distances which separate the three London airports from the heart of the city, you have to pay an average of more than €100 for a taxi journey. Heathrow, taken individually, amounts to €79.
