Record temperature for Brussels beaten on Saturday

Brussels record temperature for the date 13th of October was beaten on Saturday, as the temperature reached 25.6 degrees. This was confirmed by meteorologist David Dehenauw on Twitter. The previous record for the 13th of October was 24.8 degrees, back in 2001.

It was very hot on Saturday, too hot for this autumnal season. Thermometers said it was 25.6 degrees in Brussels, which is a new record.

These exceptionally high temperatures were not just limited to Belgium as France also had new record temperatures: it was 27.2 degrees in Paris. It hadn’t been that hot at that time of year since 1921, according to a Météo-France weather forecast. Temperatures were on average 9 – 10 degrees above what is normal for the season. The exceptions were the regions surrounding the Mediterranean, which had temperatures 4 – 5 degrees above normal.
