Brussels Airport sets new passenger record

Brussels Airport has bettered its all-time record of 24.7 million passengers, set in 2017 and is scheduled to pass the 25-million mark this year, the airport announced on Tuesday. The airport plans to celebrate the new record with its passengers, starting with the distribution of pop cakes to the sound of music in the departure hall on Friday. A concert, dance demonstrations and other entertainment will also be on the agenda of the first day of departures for the end-of-year festive season. Some 79,000 passengers are expected on that day, the busiest one for the month of December.

Brussels Airport attributes this record to the recent considerable extension of its network, particularly in Asia. Its intercontinental traffic has, in fact, been increasing considerably, as have its short-haul flights.
