Brussels resident’s Christmas wishes to the world broadcast on four giant screens

The Brussels Sounds Good association unveiled four giant screens in Brussels on Friday afternoon. They will broadcast Christmas wishes sent via social media, under the hashtag #brusselswish. The screens will remain in place until the 10th of January.

This is the third ‘Brussels Wish’ instalment. The giant screens will be at the Porte de Namur, place Rogier, Mont des Arts and place Flagey. The messages can be sent via Twitter and Instagram with the hashtag #brusselswish, on the website www.wish.brussels, on the Facebook page brusselswish or by text message to 0460/20 30 17.

“The main aim is to bring Brussels residents together by breaking down social and cultural barriers. The second is to boost Brussels’ international profile”, explains Said Maliji, the co-founder of ‘Brussels Wish’. “Some people send their wishes to Brussels residents and others send them to people elsewhere. Everyone does what they want. The Smart Cities movement is really taking off and Brussels Wish is well suited to this”.

Last year, ‘Brussels Wish’ shared nearly 11,400 messages on giant screens. In total, they broadcast wishes from over 29 different countries.
