Going on strike for International Women's Rights Day is "not appropriate," according to the Federation of Enterprises in Belgium. "This March 8 should be a day like any other," said the FEB in a statement. Yes, women are discriminated against, victims of violence, sexism, harassment and inequality. But the strike is not the right tool to fight this "sad reality", added the Federation.

On this International Women's Rights Day, the March 8th Collecti.ef has called on women - or anyone who identifies as a woman - to go on strike for the first time.

"From a practical and economic point of view, the use of strikes will hurt Belgian companies and citizens," said FEB. Are there not more creative, more constructive ways of raising awareness of the importance of women? in society? it added.

"Performing paid and recognised work is essential to improve the position of women in society," says FEB.
